The Top 5 Favourites for the La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi Trophy 

The European football season is fast approaching the final stretch, and the top 5 favorites for the La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi trophy are getting hot.

On the face of it, it looks like a battle between Robert Lewandowski, who sits top of the standings, above Karim Benzema, and Joselu Mato, who are tied for second behind him. 

Top 5 Favourites For La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi Trophy 

The race is already tightening up, with players fighting with all they have to claim the Pichichi Trophy.

Karim Benzema was running the show ever since Lionel Messi moved to France with Paris Saint Germain. According to MySportDab, Robert Lewandowski is now the top contender amongst the top 5 favorites for the La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi Trophy.

Iago Aspas 

The Celta Vigo man has been in good form since the beginning of the season, helping his side to keep themselves above the relegation zone. He always tends to challenge for the La Liga Pichichi trophy, as Celta Vigo’s key player.

He occupies the number 5th position, which could increase in the upcoming game they have at hand. Iago Aspas has scored nine goals so far with three assists to his name while he has managed to make over 22 appearances for his side.

He is tied with the same number of goals alongside Vedat Muriqi and Alexander Sorloth, who have scored the same amount this season. Amongst the top five favorites, he has played more games than other players looking for the trophy.

 

Borja Iglesias 

Borja Iglesias has proved to be the talisman for his side this season which lands him among the favorites for the la Liga 2022/23 Pichichi trophy. His goals have helped Real Betis keep afloat in the top five teams in the League table.

They are just four points away from overtaking Atletico Madrid in fourth place, with Betis working so hard to achieve their aim.

Iglesias has nine goals, the same as Aspas, but his only advantage is the number of assists and other variables which place him ahead.

He has played fewer games, just 20, as he looks to keep scoring to make sure he wins the Pichichi trophy.

 

Joselu 

Espanyol marksman Joselu has 11 goals this season as he keep Espanyol afloat. Despite the number of goals scored, his side has been unable to keep themselves from conceding a lot, placing them 13th on the table, but firmly in the relegation battle. 

Joselu keeps getting the job done, as he has hit the target on 11 occasions from 19 appearances on the pitch. His lower number of assists separates him from Karim Benzema, who occupies a better position over him in the standings.  

He stands a good chance as one of the favorites for the La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi trophy, an award Marca created. 

 

Karim Benzema 

Karim Benzema has been the star at Real Madrid since the Cristiano Ronaldo era ended. The fomer French International has been the main man at Santiago and the side’s captain. 

He was the 2021/22 Pichichi trophy winner after finishing as the leading goalscorer and winning the league title, adding to his large collection. This season hasn’t gone as he expected, with him currently fighting with the injury that kept him out of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. 

Benzema stands a chance of pushing back to claim the la Liga 2022/23 Pichichi Trophy, which he will want to retain again. Currently he is three back from Robert Lewandowski.

 

Robert Lewandowski 

Barcelona number nine Lewandowski has been doing extremely well since completing the move to Spain. Despite this being his first season Camp Nou, he has been in fine goalscoring form.

The Polish striker has scored 15 goals in 19 games this season, as he leads the race for the La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi Trophy. 

He is the number one man who has kept things going, and his goals have put his side first in the table, eight points away from Real Madrid.

 

The race between the top 5 favorites for La Liga 2022/23 Pichichi Trophy number is hotting up, with 16 more games to be played, it looks as if it will be a ferocious battle.
