WATCH: Vinicius Junior and Joao Felix seen joking together after Chelsea-Real Madrid

Having started the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last week, Joao Felix found himself on the bench on Tuesday night for the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

The move from Frank Lampard, which saw Chelsea line up with just one attacking player, bemused many, and it was one that ultimately backfired, as Real Madrid ran out 2-0 winners on the night, which completed a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Felix has faced Real Madrid several times since joining Atletico Madrid in 2019, and he has seemingly become friendly with some of their players. After the match on Tuesday night, the Portuguese was seen joking with Vinicius Junior.

It’s understandable that the pair are on good terms, with both being fluent in Portuguese. However, whether Felix and Vinicius face off on the pitch again, for next season at least, remains to be seen.

Felix’s Atletico Madrid future is far from certain, with Chelsea looking to sign him on a permanent basis. If they do so, he will no longer come up against Real Madrid in the Madrid derby.
