Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich was hailed as one of the best in the world as recently as 12 months ago, but things have turned somewhat sour in recent months, with Thomas Tuchel shifting him back to right-back again. Kimmich is out of contract in 2025, and could be sold this summer.
The Bavarian side are set to open contract talks with Kimmich in the coming weeks, but if an agreement is not found, then Bayern will likely try to recoup some cash for him. As per Florian Plettenberg of Sky DE, the 29-year-old is open to a move and talks with other clubs.
But only five of them. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are the only sides Kimmich would leave Bayern for, in a list that notably does not include Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United.
🚨🆕 News #Kimmich: FC Bayern are indeed prepared to sell Kimmich this summer if a suitable offer comes in. Additionally, JK is not ruling out a move, and he is open to discussions with potential buyers!
Still no concrete talks about a new contract beyond 2025.

Kimmich has in the past been touted in Barcelona as a potential Sergio Busquets successor, but has always looked out of reach financially. That is likely to remain the case this summer, depending on Bayern’s demands, while Real Madrid are unlikely to make a move for him. Los Blancos already have a well-stocked midfield, and Kimmich would only halt the development of some of their younger options.
